The film nation is polarized, and not for any of the usual Karan Johar style-choices. In a full-Filmy twist, an unnamed (but sounding really offended) film body has sent an open letter to the makers of “Border 2”, voicing “deep disappointment” at Diljit Dosanjh being cast in the film.
The specific issue?
“We love his swag, but sirf swag se sarhad nahi bachti.”
Leaked exclusively to the nation by one of those WhatsApp uncles “who know a guy in the censor board,” the letter is part heartbreak, part patri-sentiment, and a dash of jealousy.
“How can a man known for dancing with Dua Lipa, singing with Camila Cabello, and wearing sunglasses at night ‘lead Indians into cinematic battle’?”
“What if he burst into ‘Lemonade’ while the unit charged into the enemy?”
The letter ends with a poetic mic drop:
“Desh ke liye marna seekho, par beat ke saath nahi!”
Diljit, according to some sources, was working on a Punjabi-Spanish crossover EP in Ibiza and was completely unfazed. He just posted on Instagram:
“Paji, I can shoot bullets AND shoot music videos. Range toh dekho.”
Then he posted a reel of “Lover” over Border’s iconic sandstorm scene. The result? Instant meme fodder.
Some fans even photoshopped him into LOC Kargil with a mic in one hand and a bazooka in the other.
Unofficial gossip has it that Border 2 might be an new-age patriotic thing — war movie + musical drama! Uri meets Rockstar… with Bulletproof Turbans.
The release is set for Republic Day 2026, and there’s already drama in the air. Will Diljit break stereotypes or break the listeners’ bounds of credulity? Time will tell (as will the box office!).
For now, one thing is for sure:
“Sutlej ke kinare… mic bhi chalega, gun bhi!”
